Payment to a company or an organization
If you like you can have your STIM payments go to a company or an organization.
Music creators are entitled to compensation when their music is played live. For us to be able to send money to the right authors, we need to know that the show took place, as well as what music was played.
Compensation for live gigs abroad
When your music has been played abroad STIM will often get information about this. However, it may take up to a year and a half to get compensation. But there is a way for you to speed up the process.
STIM cooperates with corresponding organisations in other countries. This means that anyone whose music is played abroad can be remunerated.
Copyright, in Europe also called authors´rights, is designed to give rights owners, exclusive rights to their work and performances. Their economic and moral interests are thus safeguarded.
Music especially composed for a film, TV show, radio show or commercials is known as commissioned music, and is generally treated by STIM in the same way as other compositions.

It is hard to imagine a film without music. The value of music in the film simply can not be overstated.

Music in commercial radio
Commercial radio stations need to have STIM-licence to play music. The terms and conditions of the agreement and rates have been negotiated between STIM and the commercial radio industry.
