Where does the money come from?

SVT pays royalties to STIM.

How is the music reported?

All music played on SVT (channels SVT1, SVT2, Barnkanalen, Kunskapskanalen and SVT24) is reported to STIM. We also receive cue sheets for music in films from producers and TV channels, as well as from STIM organisations in other countries

How is the money distributed?

The royalties are distributed in line with the information in SVT's music reports. Local broadcasts generate lower royalties than national broadcasts. Remuneration for SVT1/SVT2 is influenced by whether the performance is visual or background. All film music yields royalties as background music.

When is the money paid?

Twice a year (June and December). Each payment includes what was performed during the previous six months.

How can I file a claim/complaint?

Log into My Pages and complete the form  "Radio  eller tv i Sverige" (Radio or TV in Sweden) under Claim. A claim must be  filed within three months of receiving the royalty information from STIM.
