Stockholm Music Week – a global initiative that brings together the music industry

On 22–29 April 2026, Stockholm Music Week will take place – a new international initiative that brings together stakeholders from across the music ecosystem. As a co-founder, Stim aims to contribute to important conversations about the future of music and to advance issues that affect music creators' conditions, now and going forward.

Stockholm Music Week is not a traditional festival, but a curated meeting place for decision-makers, creators and industry leaders from around the world. Over eight days there will be discussions, stage programs and strategic meetings about how music is created, distributed and experienced in a rapidly changing time.

A global meeting place for the future of music

Sweden holds a unique position on the global music scene. Despite its size, the country is one of the world's leading net exporters of music, with a strong heritage of songwriters and producers who have shaped international pop music for decades. Stockholm has also been a central hub for the development of music technology, not least through companies like Spotify and Epidemic Sound.

Stockholm Music Week was founded by Johan Seidefors, former Music Director and CEO of Spotify Northern Europe, in close dialogue with the Swedish music industry. The initiative brings together stakeholders from across the ecosystem – from creators and record labels to tech companies, investors and decision-makers.

The 2026 edition is a launch year, designed to lay the groundwork for a leading international music week. The format is built to expand and include more voices and parts of the industry over time, while retaining the same core: bringing together the people who shape the industry to address the questions that will define what comes next.
