3 reasons to become a voting member

Stim has over 100,000 affiliated music creators and publishers but only just under a thousand members. Are you affiliated and want to influence Stim's operations and who sits on the board? Then you can apply to become a member and get the opportunity to vote at the annual general meeting in May.
In May Stim's annual members' meeting takes place. Then all Stim members with voting rights have a chance to influence the association. To be eligible to apply for membership with voting rights you must have received settlements from Stim of at least SEK 200 in the past three years. You must also have been affiliated for at least three consecutive years.
Need convincing? Here are the arguments.
You have a chance to influence Stim's development
Where do you want Stim to be in five years? As a member of Stim you have the right to attend and vote at Stim's general meetings. That means an opportunity to actively participate in decisions that affect you as a music creator or music publisher.
Questions discussed at the meeting can range from how distributions to affiliated members are made to the adoption of new statutes, i.e. the internal rules that apply to Stim as an association. These are important decisions that affect your finances and future as a music creator.
You can influence who governs Stim
As a member with voting rights you can influence how Stim's board, nomination committee and the committee for the promotion of musical diversity and copyright are composed. The board's main task is to safeguard the interests of members and affiliates, and the nomination committee proposes suitable candidates for the board. You can have an impact by nominating people you think would be suitable for different positions ahead of the meeting.
You contribute to diversity and breadth among Stim's members
For Stim to remain relevant to today's and tomorrow's music creators we must continually improve our operations. We need to think anew and look ahead, with humility and curiosity toward the wide range of music creators we represent.
For example, a large share of our current voting members have been affiliated for many years, while fewer are new and at the start of their careers. Do you want to contribute your unique perspective and influence Stim? Become a member! You can apply directly via My pages.
