– We must help young people feel that it's not this immensely long road to take to get your music out there. And we need more girls in music production. These were the words of producer and song writer Martin Sandberg, more known as Max Martin, as he on Thursday 19th received the Swedish Government's 2014 Music Export Prize along with the honorary price for lengthy and substantial efforts in promoting Swedish music export.

At the same time streaming music provider Spotify were honorarily mentioned for its contribution to the success of Swedish music internationally.

The ceremony was held in the Foreign Ministry in Stockholm and was preceded by a panel debate concerning equality, musical regrowth and the future of music exports. Minister for Enterprise and Innovation Mikael Damberg and the CEO of Stim, Karsten Dyhrberg Nielsen, were among others members of the debate panel.
