Music creator Robyn was awarded with STIM's Platinum Guitar today.

Robyn joined STIM in 1995 when she was 16 years old - the same year that her breakthrough song "Do You Really Want Me" ("Show Me Respect") was released. Her major breakthrough in the U.S. came in 1997 with "Do You Know (What it Takes)" and "Show Me Love". In 2002, Robyn's third album "Don't Stop the Music" was released. Both the title track and "Keep This Fire Burning" were major hits. Her "Be Mine" single was on her fourth album "Robyn".

When STIM compiled a list of the 10 most frequently played songs on Swedish radio in the 21st century thus far, Robyn was the songwriter for a record-breaking 3 works on the list of top 10.

Robyn was awarded STIM's Platinum Guitar with the following justification:

"STIM is awarding Robyn with the Platinum Guitar for her creativeness, expressive stage presence and entrepreneurial spirit that have always characterised her. Despite her young age, she has already established herself as a role model for many music creators, and Robyn's success as a songwriter and live performer, both nationally and internationally, make her a source of pride for Swedish music culture.

Per Gessle, Joakim Berg, Lars Winnerbäck and Benny Andersson are previous recipients of STIM's Platinum Guitar.
