Private Copying Levy (PKE)
Private Copying Levy, known as PKE in Sweden, is statutory compensation for loss of income from lawful copying of music for private use onto various recordable media (DVD, CD, MP3 players, hard drives, etc.).
Listed as Distribution Category 17 in the royalty statement from STIM.

Copyswede handles collection according to an industry agreement with IMI, (Inspelningsmediainstitutet, which is the Swedish recording media institute). |
How is the music reported? |
There is no music reporting for this category. |
How is the money distributed? |
The selection is based on Copyswede's market survey (SIFO) on copying behaviour. Different distribution categories are used for each format (in accordance with Copyswede's classification). |
When is the money paid? |
Twice a year (June and December). |
How can I file a claim/complaint? |
Claims and complaints cannot be filed for categories with no music reporting. |
