STIM and APRA AMCOS have entered into an agreement that will see APRA AMCOS represent STIM writers via its Pan Asian Licensing (PAL) hub. The agreement will streamline the licensing, collection and distribution of royalties for STIM’s represented songwriters and publishers on digital and online multi territory services across Asia.

Although located on polar opposite sides of the globe, the partnership further bridges the gap between Sydney and Stockholm, bringing together two of the world’s most powerful and influential creative songwriting communities, which between them have been responsible for some of the most important writers and performers of our musical past and present – from ABBA and AC/DC to Max Martin and Sia.

STIM’s rights will be represented by APRA AMCOS through its PAL multi-territory digital licensing hub, taking the total number of direct members of the hub to ten since launch in 2013 with foundation member Universal Music Publishing.

Karsten Dyhrberg Nielsen, CEO of STIM, said “Building on our already strong relationship, we are excited to bring the APRA AMCOS Asian hub to our members, opening up a largely untapped growth market for our increasingly global songwriters.”

Dean Ormston, Chief Executive of APRA AMCOS, said “As organisations grounded in the value of songwriters’ works, both punching way above their weight on a global scale, we’re delighted to continue our longstanding relationship with STIM, working together to grow the value of songwriters’ works across Asia.”

STIM and APRA AMCOS are also currently working on further commercial and creative partnerships that aim to deliver increasing opportunities and benefits for their members in Europe, Australasia and beyond.
