Songwriter and guitarist Peter Svensson receives the award for his success as a songwriter throughout the years and during 2016.

Peter Svensson cofounded The Cardigans and has created music for over 20 years. He's also been a songwriter for many successful international artists. Among his most recent prominent hits are Ariana Grandes Love Me Harder, number one hit song "Can't Feel My Face" and "In The Night", both performed by The Weeknd.

– It feels fantastic to be honoured with The Platinum Guitar! Just to be part of the group of previous winners makes me proud. It is encouraging and a great confirmation that my work is appreciated. Now, I just hope that I can live up to this and make it happen again, says Peter Svensson.

– Peter Svensson has with his longstanding och comprehensive songwriting contributed to the Swedish Music Miracle. It is with great pleasure we award him this well-deserved prize. We hope to follow his career as an international songwriter for a long time ahead, says Stim CEO Karsten Dyhrberg Nielsen.

The Platinum Guitar has been awarded since 2004 to authors who have experienced exceptional success over the year.
