Prices and special terms for music in care

On this page, you will find Stim's prices and terms for using music in care.

License for music in care, healthcare, and elderly care

For public performance of music used in nursing homes, hospitals, service houses, and privately run elderly care facilities, the Licensee pays a fee to Stim as outlined below.

2025

Single Rooms

For music played in the residents' rooms using equipment provided by the Licensee, the fee is 81 SEK per bed space per year.

Multi-bed Rooms

For music played in the residents' rooms using equipment provided by the Licensee, the fee is 168 SEK per room/per ward per year.

Common Rooms

For music played using equipment provided by the Licensee in common areas for residents and visitors, the fee is 862 SEK per room per year.

The minimum fee per year per care provider is 954 SEK.

Rehabilitation and Physical Training

For music in rehabilitation and training rooms, the fee is 1,928 SEK per year.
For group training with music, the fee is 171 SEK for 10 sessions. For every new set of 10 sessions, an additional 171 SEK applies.

Reproduction

For copying, transferring, or storing music on devices such as CDs or other media for playback during sessions, the Licensee pays a fee of 100 SEK per copy.

Live Music

For free-entry live music events for a closed group (up to 300 attendees) in the Licensee's venue, the fee is 364 SEK per event.

2024

Single Rooms

For music played in the residents' rooms using equipment provided by the Licensee, the fee is 79 SEK per bed space per year.

Multi-bed Rooms

For music played in the residents' rooms using equipment provided by the Licensee, the fee is 164 SEK per room/per ward per year.

Common Rooms

For music played using equipment provided by the Licensee in common areas for residents and visitors, the fee is 840 SEK per room per year.

The minimum fee per year per care provider is 930 SEK.

Rehabilitation and Physical Training

For music in rehabilitation and training rooms, the fee is 1,879 SEK per year.
For group training with music, the fee is 167 SEK for 10 sessions. For every new set of 10 sessions, an additional 153 SEK applies.

Live Music

For free-entry live music events for a closed group (up to 300 attendees) in the Licensee's venue, the fee is 175 SEK per event.

Definitions and Special Terms

Note regarding the scope of the License

It is specifically noted that the License does not cover:

  • Events with live music for more than 300 attendees or ticketed live music events. See 
  • Music in service areas open to residents, visitors, and the public. See .
  • Music for use in telephone exchanges. See 
  • Music for use at staff parties, on music equipment provided by the employer for the staff, or in staff common areas. See 

Stims General Terms

Stims General Terms must be read and accepted when the Licensee obtains a license.
