License for music on retail premises
When Music is played publicly in, for example, shops, hairdressing salons, tanning salons, gyms (except classes with an instructor), spa facilities, medical practices and terminals (note that these are purely examples, not a complete list), the Licensee will pay STIM a fee as follows:
Yearly fee based on business days per year
The Licensee must pay the fee in advance within the period specified in the License Confirmation or Special Agreement.

The Licensee must pay the fee in advance within the period specified in the License Confirmation or Special Agreement.
The fee includes free events with Live Music on or directly adjacent to the premises, although on a maximum of five occasions per year.
In the case of music purely for demonstration purposes, the fee is reduced by 50 percent, subject to the minimum fee set out in the table above. Demonstration music refers to individual listening for demonstration purposes at the customer’s request, such as listening to Music through headphones where the customer selects the track, or other individual listening using technical equipment. The equipment must also be switched off following the demonstration.
Special terms & conditions
Note on the scope of the License
Please note that the License does not cover Live Music at events with an admission fee. Nor does the Licence cover free events with Live Music other than those included in the licence as detailed above.

A music user who wishes to perform Music in public only occasionally and who does not intend to perform Live Music can apply for a special license for this purpose; see

Stim’s General Terms and Conditions must be read and accepted when the Licensee obtains a license.
