Streamed music in podcasts

For streamed music in podcasts, the licensee shall pay according to the details below

Price

The licensee pays SEK 0.002 per streamed music minute. The number of streamed music minutes is determined based on an estimate of the number of podcast broadcasts per month, the average amount of music (in minutes) per podcast episode, and the average number of listeners per episode. The minimum fee is SEK 421 per month.

This license applies to licensees with a maximum licensing fee to Stim of SEK 100,000 per calendar year for the relevant license area. For licensees with higher licensing fees, please contact Stim for a separate agreement.

Scope of the License

The license includes, with the above limitations and the other limitations specified in the License Agreement:

  1. The right for the licensee to stream music included in the licensee's podcasts online to individuals in Sweden who have access to the licensee's service for personal and non-commercial use.
  2. The right for the licensee to make copies of music included in the licensee's podcasts on servers, to the extent necessary for transferring the content to users of the service in Sweden.
  3. The right for the licensee to enable users of the service in Sweden to make temporary copies of the music works included in the licensee's podcasts on their own devices. Temporary copies are defined as copies made on the user's device that are accessible offline for no more than 30 days.

For the use of music as an intro or theme, in addition to the license with Stim, a separate license must be obtained directly from the rights holder. For the use of recorded music, the licensee must obtain a master use license directly with the rights holder, i.e., the music companies.

Payment Terms

The licensee shall pay the fee in advance, according to the interval specified in the License Confirmation or Special Agreement.

Special Conditions

The licensee is obligated to structure the online service in such a way that the number of streamed music minutes per month and the consumed time per month can be monitored.
