Prices and special terms and conditions for music in hotels

Licence for music in hotels, cabins and on campsites

2025

To play Music in hotels and holiday villages as well as on campsites or similar, the Licensee pays SEK 1.79 per night per room that is occupied (“occupancy night”).  

The minimum fee is SEK 954 per year and business. A business is taken to mean, for example, a single hotel or holiday village.  

The fee covers the playing of Music in rooms/cabins and music in foyers, lobbies, lifts, conference rooms, lounges and other similar spaces to which guests have access. 

Licensees who only play Music in common areas such as in foyers/lobbies, lifts, conference rooms, lounges or similar will pay SEK 954 per such area per year. 

The Licensee must pay the fee within the period specified in the Licence Confirmation or Special Agreement. The Licence Confirmation or Special Agreement will also state whether the Licensee should pay in advance or in arrears. If the Licensee is to pay in arrears, there are special rules on Reporting in the General Terms & Conditions. If no Report is submitted, STIM is entitled to invoice an estimated amount based on Statistics Sweden’s information on utilisation of capacity for hotel rooms in Greater Stockholm.

Licensees who only play Music in common areas such as in foyers/lobbies, lifts, conference rooms, lounges or similar will pay SEK 930 per such area per year.

Note on the scope of the License

Please note that the Licence does not cover Live Music or music in restaurants, clubs and bars, on retail premises (e.g. shops), in sports facilities (e.g. gyms) or exercise areas. For more information, see Prices and special terms and conditions for each area.

Stim’s General Terms and Conditions

Stim’s General Terms and Conditions must be read and accepted when the Licensee obtains a license.
