How can I report that I have created the music for a film?
You log in to My pages where you register your music, that is, make a work registration. When it comes to commissioned music for a film production, we recommend that you combine all your music pieces in the production and create a single collective work with Stim. You name this work after the TV production’s title. Remember to also add up the total amount of music so that you state the total music duration in your work registration. You must inform the production company of the name of your collective work.
You don’t have to follow the example above – the important thing is that you and the production company use the same names. If you instead choose to register each music piece as its own work and give unique titles to each work, it is important that the production company receives exactly the same information from you. This makes the whole process easier and helps Stim identify which work to pay royalties for.
If the music will be used in other contexts, for example on a soundtrack, you can make new work registrations with Stim for the music pieces involved.
