How should production companies report and declare their music usage to Stim?
First and foremost, you should follow the TV channel’s instructions. The channel may want you to use their reporting system, SoundMouse. Therefore, it is easiest to first contact the TV channel that owns the program format, and they will guide you from there.
If the production company owns the production and the program format instead, you should use Stim’s music reporting form. There, you fill in details about all the music you have used in the production (commercial music, library music, Epidemic Sound). The form is sent to NCB, Nordic Copyright Bureau, at the email address. NCB will then send an invoice at a fixed price concerning the synchronization fee for the commercial music.
Also remember to contact Ifpi to clear the rights for the recordings of the songs you have used.
