2025 became the year when AI seriously changed the playing field in the music industry. From being an experimental tool, AI is now an integrated part of how music is created, distributed and consumed. Development is moving fast – and in several directions at once. For Stim, it's now about continuing to be relevant in a rapidly changing music economy.

The composer on the award-winning album: "Musikdrömmen was crucial"

When Paula Sundin received the Award for Experimental of the Year at the Manifest gala, she chose to highlight STIM's project grant Musikdrömmen in her acceptance speech. A grant that has played a central role in the work on the album Glass Feathers.

“It was like a treasure trove” – Biel on her first encounter with Svensk Musik

This year Svensk Musik turns 60 – a milestone for an organization that since its inception has worked to preserve, disseminate and make Swedish music accessible. The decision that formed the basis for it all, however, was taken by STIM's board as early as 1958. The same year Ann-Christin Biel was born, who decades later would go on to lead the organization through a decisive part of its history.

Britta Byström: "A feeling of forward movement when everything else stood still"

In collaboration with the Gothenburg Symphony, the chamber ensemble Gageego and Fst, Stim announced in December 2019 a composition competition with a focus on chamber music. The prize sum was 50,000 kronor together with performances by Gageego and four other top European ensembles. The composers Britta Byström, Henrik Denerin and Leilei Tian won in their respective categories.
