What applies if I’m an artist planning to livestream a concert with my own songs or other people’s?

It’s absolutely fine to do! The important thing to know is that different rules apply depending on which platform you use for the broadcast. Stim has agreements with Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Vevo. On these platforms you can stream music without obtaining a licence. At present we have no possibility to pay out royalties based on submitted set-lists for livestreams on these platforms, but we’re investigating possible solutions for that.

We nevertheless encourage all artists and organisers to submit music reports for livestreamed concerts that have been carried out anywhere other than Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Vevo. Submit your music report via My Pages. For the platforms Twitch and Vimeo we currently have no licence and therefore cannot accept reports for them.

If you want to broadcast live on your own website or another platform, there is a convenient Stim licence for this. You provide an estimate of how many viewers there will be and then receive a price quote.
