I want to livestream music online, what do I need to know?
Anyone who wants to livestream video online that includes music can absolutely do so. Ideally, choose a platform that already has a music licence in place so that the creators get paid. If you plan to stream live on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, or Vevo, the licence is already covered, thanks to the agreements Stim has negotiated with those platforms. Note! The kinds of music use permitted are still governed by each platform’s own terms of service.
If you want to stream live on your own website or, for example, in your app, you’ll need to obtain a licence from Stim so that the songwriters receive payment. Simply select your licence package in Stim’s shop. There are two options: one for free events and one for streams behind a paywall.
