Do I have to pay Stim if I only have a TV in my business premises?
Yes, if the sound is on you need a Stim licence. The reason is that when you show TV programmes, sporting events or other broadcasts in a public environment, such as a shop, hair salon, restaurant or similar business, it counts as a public performance of music. This means the rights-holders—the songwriters and composers—are entitled to remuneration when their music is played publicly.
In our webshop you can easily find the licence that best suits your business.
