Stim's travel grants

Stim's travel grants give creators the possibility to attend the premieres of their musical works in Sweden and abroad, and for international festivals of significant importance. You can apply for travel grants if your musical works or lyrics are publicly available through deposit on Svensk Musik, publication by a publisher, or otherwise. The travel grants are mainly aimed at genres in need of special support. You cannot take part in the performance yourself, as the organizer is expected to cover those costs.

Where do I apply for travel grants?
Via My Pages or the Stim app.

How often can I apply for travel grants?
Travel grants can be given for a maximum of three trips outside Europe per year and for a maximum of three trips within Europe, including Sweden.

How do travel grants benefit me as a composer?
Besides getting the chance to rehearse and see your work of music premiered in person, premieres are an excellent opportunity for networking and promoting your music. They often lead to further commissions.

Who decides on the travel grants?
Stim's travel grant group, consisting of representatives from FST, SKAP and the Swedish Music Publishers (Musikförläggarna), decides who receives travel grants. The group meets seven times a year to decide on recipients of the grant, and the grants are administered by Svensk Musik.

What do the grants mean for the Swedish music scene?
The travel grants help to further strengthen and raise the visibility of Swedish music in both Sweden and abroad.
