Register percentage shares for a work of music

When you register your works of music you fill in both performance shares and mechanical shares. In English "perf" stands for performance and "mech" stands for mechanical. In the work of music form on My Pages there is a separate field to fill this information in.

• Performance shares – compensation you receive when the song is played, for example via radio, TV or at concerts.
• Mechanical shares – compensation you receive when the music has been recorded and stored on a device, for example on CD, mobile phone, computer or Blu-ray.

On so-called manusverk all rights are owned by the creators and no music publisher has any shares in the work of music.

You share the music but you provide the lyrics
A common split in many bands when one person writes all the music, but the group arranges it together. Ultimately it’s up to you to decide how the division should be.

Author 4. C: 12.5%
