The Church Of Sweden

The negotiations with the Church of Sweden is not yet finished, but our hope is that it will happen in the near future. The goal of the negotiations has been, among other things, a simplified contract and payment model, which will be adjusted to a more varied music use.

Payments of Spotify royalties Q1 2017 rescheduled

A necessary shift in processing has meant that we are forced to postpone payments from Spotify until a later date. We estimate that payments for Q1 2017 will be made at the end of September 2017.

What is causing the delay?

The processing of payments from online streaming services differs significantly from other distribution categories. Not only are there huge volumes of data to be collected and set in place before the process can begin, but It takes longer to identify repertoire and collect  payments allocated to the relevant licence periods. All in all, this means that remuneration for music played on streaming services cannot always be processed exactly in time to meet STIM:s regular quarterly distribution payments.

We always strive to be more effective and to ensure correct payments for the usage of the repertoire we represent. Right now we are developing a feature in our "My Pages service" on STIM:s web, that will make it possible for you to connect one or more track-IDs from a streaming service directly to the work in your works list. First out is a link to Spotify. This means that we can identify your works much earlier in the reporting process thus ensuring that you get paid as soon as possible when your music is played.
