Prices and specific conditions for Music in Fitness and Dance Sessions

From January 1, 2026 we will replace two licenses – Music in Fitness Sessions and Music in Dance Course – with one new combined license: Music in Fitness and Dance Sessions. The purpose is to make it easier for you as a customer to manage your license and to create a clearer and fairer model for music in instructor-led sessions.

Why are we introducing a new license?

  • Simplification: One license instead of several for a similar use of music. New price bands to reduce administration.
  • Fairness: Prices and conditions are adjusted so that they better reflect how music is used in different types of operations.
  • Transparency: A clearer model that is easier to understand and compare.
  • In line with the industry: Our sister societies in the Nordic countries and Europe have similar licenses – and Stim remains in the lower price range.

What does the change mean for you?

  • Price bands for number of sessions per year are introduced to facilitate advance reporting.
  • For those operations that previously had a license for Music in Dance Course, new price bands for number of participants are introduced.
  • Placement in price bands is based on the latest information you have submitted to Stim. You may therefore need to log in to My pages and check that your information is correct.
  • Adjustments to price levels are introduced to better reflect the value of the music.
