Prices and special terms for Streamed music to picture – not subject to a fee

For streamed Music to picture online of own productions, for example livestreamed concerts, streamed exercise classes or other streamed video clips that are not fee-based for the user, the Licensee pays as set out below.

Price

The Licensee pays 1.50 kronor per consumed music hour, of which 0.14 kr is a synchronization fee. Consumed music hours are determined based on a reasonable estimate of the amount of Music in the service, the number of user sessions per month and the average consumed time. The minimum fee is 498 kronor per month.

This license is applicable to licensees with a maximum license fee to STIM of 100,000 kr per calendar year for the relevant license area. For licensees with a higher license fee – contact STIM for a special agreement.

For streamed Music to picture online of own productions, for example livestreamed concerts, streamed exercise classes or other streamed video clips that are not fee-based for the user, the Licensee pays as set out below.

Price

The Licensee pays 1.49 kronor per consumed music hour, of which 0.14 kr is a synchronization fee. Consumed music hours are determined based on a reasonable estimate of the amount of Music in the service, the number of user sessions per month and the average consumed time. The minimum fee is 494 kronor per month.

This license is applicable to licensees with a maximum license fee to STIM of 100,000 kr per calendar year for the relevant license area. For licensees with a higher license fee – contact STIM for a special agreement.

Scope of the License

The license includes, with the limitations set out in the License Agreement:

  1. The right to synchronize (combine) Music and visuals. The synchronization license applies to streaming to users in Sweden during the license validity period. The synchronization license includes, for example, exercise classes, art projects, concerts and services. It is noted that this right to synchronize image and music does not apply to commercials or other advertising purposes, idents or theme tunes, TV productions or similar productions for online use, TV drama, cinema films, short films, feature films, documentaries or corporate presentations to be shown externally. In these cases a synchronization license is needed from other parties. Read more here about synchronization and which parties can grant such a license. It is further noted that a license is also required from the owner of the master recording where an original recording of a work is used in a production.
  2. The right for the Licensee to make copies on servers of Music included in the relevant productions, to the extent necessary to deliver the content to users of the service in Sweden live or on demand.
  3. The right to transmit productions with visuals and Music by online streaming live or on demand, to natural persons in Sweden who have access to the Licensee's service for their personal and non-commercial use.

Payment terms and contract period

The Licensee shall pay the fee in advance according to the interval specified in the License Confirmation or Special Agreement.

Instead of what is stated in the General Terms, the following applies regarding the contract period. The license runs until the end of the current calendar month. The license is extended by one calendar month at a time unless one of the parties terminates the License in writing before the end of the current calendar month.

Special terms

The Licensee is obliged to design the online service in such a way that the number of streams and the number of user sessions per month as well as consumed Music time per month can be verified

Note regarding the Scope of the License

  • The license applies only within the territory of Sweden.
  • The license does not cover ticketed livestreamed events. For such activities
  • The license does not cover public performance of Live Music for a physical audience or public performance of streamed events for a physical audience.
  • The license does not apply to music-dramatic works/major rights, for example opera, operetta and musical. The license also does not cover graphic rights (text and sheet music).
