The municipality’s fixed annual fee under the agreement covers the following areas:
Schools – preschools, compulsory schools, upper secondary schools, youth centres and leisure centres
Background music, discos and live music (free-admission events with up to 300 attendees) on school premises, school graduations, and Music in Media (compensation for copying and storing music) are included.
Exception: live music at youth centres/leisure activities must be reported afterwards.
Care – nursing homes, short-term accommodation, day centres, supported housing
Background music, discos and live music (free-admission events with up to 300 attendees), as well as music in exercise classes, are included.
Sports halls and swimming pools
Background music is included when the municipality operates the venue. If another operator rents the venue, that operator is responsible for the Stim fee.
Municipal workplaces
Background music at workplaces, in lunchrooms and staff areas, and music from computers and phones are included. Staff parties with discos or live music (free-admission events with up to 300 attendees) are also included.
Food service
Background music in food service within schools and care is included.
Music in exhibitions and installations
Most municipalities have chosen to include background music in exhibitions and installations in the fixed annual fee. Contact Stim to confirm what applies in your municipality.
Plays/theatrical productions
Most municipalities have chosen to include theatrical productions produced by a municipal unit/operation in the fixed annual fee. Contact Stim to confirm what applies in your municipality.
Licensed under the agreement, but not included in the fixed fee
For activities not covered by the fixed annual fee, Stim needs information and/or invoice documentation from the responsible party.

- Music classes, upper secondary music programmes, and aesthetic programmes with a music focus – invoice documentation is required for larger concerts (more than 300 attendees) and for concerts with admission.
- School concerts with admission or with more than 300 attendees
- Public live music events – e.g. cultural programmes, town festivals, Walpurgis Night, and National Day celebrations
