Making recordings

You need a license to record music on vinyl, CD, DVD, etc.
 
You need to notify NCB to obtain a license to reproduce copies of a CD, for example. You will receive an invoice for the reported production in about a week.

Where do the fees go?

The fee you pay to STIM is distributed among the copyright owners (composers, lyricists and publishing companies) of the music you recorded.  

Release your own music

Anyone who is recording his or her own music on a CD, for example, can apply for exemption from the licence fee for the first pressing. Read more about releasing recordings of your own music.
