How to receive STIM royalty payments

  • You must be a member of STIM. Read more about joining STIM.

  • You must register your musical works which are played in public (read more under Register your music). Played in public means that they are played on the radio, on TV, performed live or released on CD/DVD or equivalent. Small-scale performances, such as when an entertainer performs in a hospital, also count as public performances.

  • The person who plays your music must report the performances to STIM, along with a setlist of the titles played. If you play your own music live you must report the performances yourself. Do this via My Pages. Read more about reporting live performances.

  • The venue where the performance is taking place must pay royalties to STIM for the performance, otherwise we have no money to pay out to the songwriter.
